Orders & Honours

Greggs Friday Breakfast Club · Official Honours Register

The Orders & Honours of the Greggs Friday Breakfast Club recognise exceptional service, distinguished conduct and significant contributions to the traditions of the Club.

Honours are awarded by the High Pastry Court and form part of the permanent ceremonial record.

Some honours recognise achievement. Others commemorate distinction, service or, on occasion, particularly memorable pastry-related conduct.

👑 The Pastry Crown

Supreme Honour of the Breakfast Club

The Pastry Crown is the highest distinction available to a serving member.

It is traditionally associated with the holder of the highest position in the official Pastry Point Ledger.

The Crown represents the combination of:

Attendance · Service · Achievement · Pastry Excellence

The holder of the Crown is recognised as the current Pastry Champion.

Current Holder

The Hash Brown Chancellor

16 Pastry Points

Standing: Exemplary

⭐ The Order of Legendary Honour

Legendary Honorary

The highest honorary distinction bestowed upon a member whose contribution to the history and traditions of the Club is considered exceptional.

The honour recognises lasting significance rather than merely current Pastry Point standing.

Current Recipient

The Wakkaman of Old

15 Pastry Points

🕰️ The Order of the Morning Munch

Temporal Enforcer of the Morning Munch

A distinguished office responsible for protecting the temporal integrity of the Friday Breakfast Club.

The holder serves as the Club’s recognised Timekeeper, ensuring that the sacred chronology of Friday breakfast is properly observed.

Current Holder

The Chronomancer of the Morning Munch

14 Pastry Points

🥩 The Order of the Steak Bake

Sultan of the Steak Bake

A ceremonial title bestowed upon a member whose standing and devotion to the noble steak bake have earned recognition from the Club.

The Sultan holds a distinguished position within the Breakfast Club’s ceremonial hierarchy.

Current Holder

The Villager Sultan

13 Pastry Points

🌱 The Verdant Order

Guardian of the Vegan Doctrine

An honour associated with the protection and preservation of the Club’s vegan breakfast traditions.

The Guardian is entrusted with defending the integrity of vegan provisions and, most importantly, the Vegan Sausage Roll.

Current Holder

The Verdant Guardian

12 Pastry Points

Office: Keeper of the Vegan Sausage Roll

🔔 The Order of the Final Bell

The Final Bell

A ceremonial designation associated with the assembled Club proceeding to breakfast.

The holder is traditionally recognised as the member whose arrival has become an established part of beginning the Club’s breakfast ritual.

Current Holder

The Final Bell

11 Pastry Points

Standing: Cautioned

🥐 The Rogue Roll

Rogue Roll

The Rogue Roll is a judicially imposed ceremonial designation reserved for members whose conduct has attracted the particular attention of the High Pastry Court.

Unlike ordinary disciplinary measures, the Rogue Roll combines recognition of misconduct with an opportunity for redemption.

The designation has a defined active period and may be removed following successful redemption.

Current Holder

The Sausage Roll Strongman

10 Pastry Points

Status: Active

🍩 The Distinguished Breacher

Distinguished Constitution Breacher

An unusual but respected ceremonial distinction recognising a member whose history contains significant constitutional breaches.

The honour acknowledges that constitutional history is built not only by those who follow the rules, but occasionally by those who provide the Court with opportunities to interpret them.

Current Holder

The Rogue Doughnut

9 Pastry Points

🎖️ Guest of Honour

The Guest of Honour designation may be granted by the High Pastry Court to a distinguished non-member whose presence at a Club meeting is considered appropriate under exceptional circumstances.

A Guest of Honour receives temporary ceremonial recognition but does not automatically become a permanent member.

🕊️ Attendance Pardon

An Attendance Pardon is a judicial act of clemency granted where circumstances prevent a member from fulfilling an attendance obligation.

A pardon:

  • Removes the relevant penalty
  • Does not erase the underlying event from the historical record
  • Does not create an automatic exemption from future attendance requirements
  • May be granted only at the discretion of the High Pastry Court

🍰 The Cake Fine

Although technically a judicial penalty rather than an honour, the Cake Fine occupies an important place in the Club’s ceremonial tradition.

A member found guilty of an unauthorised alternative-day Greggs visit may be sentenced to provide cake.

The Court reserves the right to determine the nature and severity of the cake where circumstances require.
